Long time no see. Things have been messy at school so I’ve had trouble finding time to right posts but I think I finally have things organised now so LET’S GO! I decided to do this cute little tag because it sounds pure… I love the moon. This was originally made by crescent mood reads (I love that name).
1. Full Moon: Book that has supernatural creatures in it
The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken
I loved this middle-grade book! It follows Prosper after he finds out he has a demon living inside him. Eurgh, it’s such a pure book. I love the two main characters.
2. Starry Night: Book that has a beautiful starry cover
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I love this cover! Both the US and the UK cover is beautiful.
3. Out of this World: Favorite sci-fi book
The Lunar Chronicles by Stephanie Meyer
I don’t read much sci-fi but these books were incredible! I know a lot of people hype them up but for good reason. I need to plan a reread soon because I miss the rampion crew.
4. Creature of the Night: thriller with a killer
The Never List by Koethi Zan
Again, I don’t read many thrillers. I read this one a couple of years ago and it completely took me by surprise. It follows a girl, who is taken in college with her best friend, but after she has escaped as is trying to deal with the reapercussions. I did not expect the twist at the end!
5. The Moon controls the Tides: Book that deals with water (setting, powers, etc)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
Obviously Percy has water powers kind of… You know what I mean. I love this series and plan on reading the Heroes of Olympus soon!
6. Daughters of the Moon: Book that features some serious GIRL POWER+FRIENDSHIP
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Everytime I think of girl power I think of Nina and Inej… These two are so powerful together! If I didn’t ship Kanej so much I would be all for this f/f ship.
“We’ll see each other again.”
“Of course we will. You’ve saved my life. I’ve saved yours.”
“I think you’re ahead on that count.”
“No, I don’t mean in the big ways.” Nina’s eyes took them all in. “I mean the little rescues. Laughing at my jokes. Forgiving me when I was foolish. Never trying to make me feel small. It doesn’t matter if it’s next month, or next year, or ten years from now, those will be the things I remember when I see you again”
They really are THAT friendship
7. Spaceship: Your OTP
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Reusing a series but I have to say Kaz and Inej. They’re such a power couple who bring the best out in each other. I deserve more books with their stories. PLEASE can Bardugo write a book of how they fought together in the slat, or of their little talks that took place in Kaz’s office with Inej on the window sill.
“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”
8. Waxes and Wanes: Book that played with your emotions
A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
I recently read this book and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. There were some deaths that just ruined me.
9. Music of the Night: Book that has to do with music
Monsters of Verity by V.E. Schwab
This series! It has August and his violin so is very fitting for this. I miss him:( It is set in a world where monsters are created from the bad things humans do. I recommend it!
10. After Hours: Book that has the word “Night” in the title.
Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter
A strange, magical tale that deserves more recognition!
11. Crescent Moon: Book that features a goddess or goddesses
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
An Iliad retelling that focuses on the story of Achilles and Patroclus. As a classics student who has read and loved The Iliad, I can say that this book had such good characterisation of Achilles. His relationship with Patroclus was as beautiful as it was tragic.
